punk

it's definitely back, but in a new way. minimal knits, almost too proper for punk with layers of chunky bijoux, gives me a few ideas.

stars

by now, you should know i'm not one to tog on a dior homme shirt. no, and i admit, i don't wile in that category of spending. i delight in spending on small items from a growing pool of really talented local labels. i'm obsessed with this bow tie i got from depression people (link), from their shop at parco milennia walk. i was not a bow tie person, but i seem to be drawn to a different image nowadays. less and less drama, and more controlled these days. i don't know about my detractors, but i kind of like this new direction.

last night was a blast. three of my favourite brands congregated in a small corner of orchard central to set up shop. reckless ericka (link), blackmarket no.2 (link) and elohim (link). and what a brilliant idea to hold their openings together. i missed seeing some old faces around. it was a blast.

Through the Looking Glass, Darkly

I really need to get down to scanning my work at Female in. But in the meantime, this is the fruits of what was a long discussion of shooting with the wonderfully astute Brendan Zhang. Watching him work is so much fun, the chap is constantly buzzing, constantly thinking, but at always, a very friendly guy. I haven't done anything like this, so I think this is a bit of a fresh breath. And I dare say, one of my favourite sets I've done in a very long time.

i just want to be
.
.
.
happy.

my queen.

carine roitfeld is one of the first and strongest influences in this industry, and a woman that inspire me each time i see her picture. she's announced today she will be leaving Vogue Paris -- the pulpit of her visionary approach to style, clothing, and everything else in between. her formula to looking good was a simple combination of feeling good, and a pair of great shoes; and that no matter what, there's nothing more keen to a person than her or his own style. i'll miss her brand of cool, but more importantly, i hope she never leaves the industry.

i will miss her pen in the pages.

a true original. God bless her.
